Miri Weible
Oil & Watercolor Paintings |
|
For many years, Miri has ridden the deserts of the Sonoran Southwest on her horse, Stormy. Her paintings reflect this camaraderie with modern day cowboys and cowgirls who love to explore the canyons and valleys of this richly colorful country. She paints in oil, acrylic and watercolor, more often than not, on location.
“I want the viewer to be enriched and involved in my compositions; to have the sense that they are a part of an experience; to feel the canyon breezes; to see the amazing patterns and tapestry that are woven into this wild country. I believe that beauty and color impact people's spirit. I work to connect the natural grace of living things with color so that my paintings have a positive and uplifting impact.”
Weible has been the recipient of numerous regional and national awards. Her work is included in collections nationwide. Her solo exhibits locations include The Tweed Museum, Duluth, Minnesota, and The Disney Collection, Burbank, California. Her Best of Show awards include The Scenic Southwest 1996, a national exhibit, and the 2005 Western Federation of Watercolor Societies’ Exhibit.
She earned a Masters of Arts degree from Brigham Young University, taught art at Woodbury University and Maricopa Technical College and is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society. Her work has been published in Betsy Dillard Stroud’s book, “Painting from the Inside Out” and The International Artist Magazine.
