This exceptional artist's paintings are memarkably rich and vivid because of the unique style he employs. Each painting is "done" four times. First, he pencils in the basic layout. Then he does a tight monochrome rendering and follows that by painting it in full color. His final coat is color-on-color which gives the paintings a translucence that almost permits you to "see into them". According to Tom, his style is similar to that practiced by the old Dutch masters.
